OUR FIRST YEAR PLAN:
• An elaborated work program for both beginners and advanced chess players (with appropriate opening and defence strategies). Two classes a week (i.e. 70 classes yearly altogether) are planned for each group
• Teaching staff will consist of chess instructors that have won a title or experienced teachers with previous engagement in chess
• Marketing
• Doing research
SECOND YEAR PLAN (IN ADDITION TO THE ITEMS OF THE FIRST-YEAR AGENDA, WHICH STAND FOR ALL THREE YEARS):
• Creating workshops for qualification of future chess instructors
• Conducting a poll
THIRD YEAR PLAN (IN ADDITION TO THE FIRST TWO):
• The newly-qualified instructors will hold the classes by now
• A general evaluation will be made
MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT:
• Providing schools with the necessary chess sets and equipment
•Giving children regular homework
• Organising prize-winning tournaments at the end of each month, where participants will be grouped according to their age, proficiency etc.
• Founding of a Mini Chess League
• Keeping an individual record for every child; at the end of the school year the best players will be proclaimed winners and awarded special prizes
• If a child or children prove to be exceptionally talented, their teacher is obliged to inform the members of CS in Macedonia that are in charge to intensify their attention to each of the talents
• In the period of the duration of the project we plan to hold several meetings with the parents in which their satisfaction/dissatisfaction with their children’s progress will be discussed and their suggestions will certainly come into consideration
• The teaching staff’s profile will be decided upon carefully, on the basis of suggestions given by the Macedonian Chess Association, as well as a special regulation introduced by the Ministry of Education and Science
• The staff will initially consist of instructors with post-secondary or college education and a title in chess
• For the time being, we put forward a teaching plan and program for the first year, during which we will provide plans and programs for the following two years, meaning that the education will function at three levels
• In which way is the program to be presented and implemented? Our suggestion is that it would be the best and most efficient for children if the classes are optional from second/third till fifth grade, and obligatory from sixth till eight/ninth grade
