When seen through the prism of how important chess could be for schools as the most efficient extra-educational activity, our project acquires even wider significance. Examining the latest scientific research, we have come across valuable information. Chess is part of the curricula in nearly 30 countries. In Venezuela, Iceland, Russia and other countries, chess is a subject in all public schools. Taking these facts into consideration, we find that the school-age children would highly benefit from the potentials of the 64 squares being introduced to them.
GENERAL GOAL OF THE PROJECT The main aim of the project is to improve the quality of educational services offered to pupils in primary education and to develop psycho-social skills of children through chess as a pedagogical method as a regular project activity, and as part of the curriculum (optional and elective subject). SPECIFIC GOALS OF THE PROJECT · To contribute to gender equality; · To contribute to strengthening inter-ethnic cooperation of young people through educational and cultural activities, including alternative and innovative methods; · To convey the benefits of teaching chess to children with special needs; · To contribute to the development of mental abilities of children; · To contribute to the development of personality with positive character traits, training for independence and accuracy in work, clarity and tangibility in the opinion, persistence, persistence, systematic, rationality and responsibility in work, curiosity and aesthetic sensitivity and desire for knowledge and need for study; · Children to be able to use mathematics and chess knowledge in solving tasks of everyday life and practical needs; · To contribute to the diversity and fun for all children; The far-reaching, exceptionally significant and responsible goal of BIVIUM is to introduce chess as an optional subject in elementary schools, which would be a great benefit for the entire society. Implementation of this project in early childhood education would mean results in the future development of children's intellect, increasing of overall levels of skills and would significantly reduce exclusion of certain students on various grounds (gender, ethnic - religious, socio - economic, students with special needs). ![]() |
